OUR TEACHING STAFF


Claudine Ascher


is a professional artist for more than 20 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts (1974) and a Diploma in Education (1976) from McGill University, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts (1983) from Concordia University, and a Master of Art Education from Concordia University (2005).  A certified teacher since 1978, she has taught art technique and practiced at Arts Centers around Montreal and in Banff.


Michael MacDonald (guitar)


Studied music at McGill University and Concordia University and has taught guitar for 14 years.  He has experience teaching music at the elementary and secondary levels and works as a performer in the Montreal area.


Janette Haggar


has a DEC in ceramic technology from Abbott College and a Masters in Art Education from Concordia University. She has experience teaching at the preschool through to university level.


Bev Wight


is a professional artist who has studied painting, visual design, and art theory in university and with many notable professional artists. She has taught both adults and children and participated in shows in New York, Winnipeg, and Montreal.Her paintings are in private and corporate collections in Europe and Canada including the Colart Collection in Montreal.  


Deirdre McCay


has been painting and teaching in Montreal for more than 35 years. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in painting from Boston University and a Masters Degree in Art Education from McGill University. She is an art consultant for the EMSB school system, has taught art from elementary to university levels including at the Visual Art Centre for 17 years.


Sheryl Ann Medicoff


is an event, corporate and portrait photographer for 10 years. She photographed Concordia University's 2001 promotional campaign, CJA's fundraising campaigns in 1998 and 2002 and for 8 years was the photographer for the Pulp and Paper Convention. 


Tracey Steele 


(piano) studied with the Royal Toronto Conservatory and has over 20 years experience teaching music. She also has 20 years of experience in dance of all types, has taught at a top-ranked competitive dance school and has performed in a leading Hip-Hop dance troupe in Montreal.


Branka Marinkovic Forte


has painted and studied throughout Canada, the USA and Europe.  She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and art history from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston.   Her paintings are in private collections in Canada and Europe.


Stewart Fletcher


is an internationally respected Multi­disciplinary Artist. He has a DEC in Fine Arts from John Abbott College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University. His masterful works and outstanding technical abilities have enabled him to successfully market and sell his work internationally for over 25 years. His professional, honest and straightforward approach to art making has brought him hundreds of sales in Asia, the Americas, Australia and Europe.


Kim Vergil


is a professional artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Univérsité du Québec à Montreal and a degree in Ceramic Technology from John Abbott College. She has exhibited in Canada and the U.S.A. and has taught and lectured at many organizations including the Visual Arts Center in Montreal and Hartwick College in New York.


Melanie Matthews


Studied at Dawson College and Concordia University.  She has pursued an art career for the last 25 years ans is currently a working artist for Golden Artist Colours.


Charlie Rossen


has a DEC in Professional Theatre at John Abbott College. He has taught at both the Fine Arts Camp and the DCA`s Saturday theatre classes and has appeared in local theatrical and radio productions and international films.


Megan Bradley


is a professional actor with a DEC in Professional Theatre from John Abbott College and has appeared in numerous productions in the area, including "Shakespeare in the Park".


Erik H. Goulet


has been active in the film industry since 1990. After studying stop­motion animation at Concordia University in Montreal, he worked in the film business in animation houses before joining Softimage in 1998 as a 3D product specialist. In his spare time, he continues to produce puppet­based animated shorts and teaches stop­motion animation at Concordia
and is the head of the Montreal StopMotion Film Festival.



James Olmsted


is a professional musician who studied at John Abbott College under Trevor Payne and in the Vanier Music Program. As well as participating in various music competitions, he has also been a member of a rock band that performed throughout the Montreal area.

Joseph Blair Dunlap


is a professional artist with a Master of Art Education from Concordia University and has also studied painting and drawing with several internationally recognized artists.


 
Alarey Alsip


has a BFA with honors in Theatre from Concordia University. She toured two shows with Geordie Productions, performing for over 80,000 people in Quebec, Ontario & the Maritimes. She performs, choreographs, writes, directs and design sets, costumes & props for productions including her own company, La Bouche. She has taught dance and theatre to students in Manitoba & Quebec.


 
Mariola Nykiel


has a diploma in Fashion Design and computer assisted design from Lasalle College and has worked in the fashion industry since 1987.
